I recently had the pleasure of recieving a golf lesson at the Golf Tec store in Omaha, Nebraska. Now, I am no newbie to lessons
But, this was dramatically different from any lesson I have ever had. What Golf Tec does is use modern technology and science to improve your game. On my first visit I was strapped into a harness and given my 6 iron. The harness measures my swing in very precise detail and picks up data not seen in video. After that, I was video recorded from 2 angles at the same time while hitting balls. Finally, my able instructor (Brandon) put my swing up on the computer and compared my swing to Tiger Woods. Yes, that was quite a site!
Using the video of my swing and the data collected by the harness Brandon pointed out several problems with my swing and helped me with swing thoughts to correct the most severe of them. I was then strapped back into the harness to hit balls again.
Now this is really cool. The harness was programmed to beep when my setup and swing was correctly performed. Thus, I did not need to think about anything. Just listen for the beep and swing! Very cool! The idea is to use this to train the feel of the swing and not let your brain get in the way
Now my swing is totally off and has been for some time, OK, ALL TIME! So, I signed up for more lessons. My plan is to post the results in this thread so STAY TUNED!
